Research has shown that 40 per cent of textile discolouration is caused by UV radiation, 25 per cent is due to heat, another 25 per cent caused by normal visible light and the remaining 10 per cent is caused by artificial interior lighting, moisture and dust.

Through a complex process, UV rays transform the water found in all fabrics into hydrogen peroxide, (a common bleaching agent) which leads to the fading of dyes.
UV-A rays cause more serious damage in the long term. They penetrate and ruin carpets, fabrics, curtains, upholstery and wooden furniture.

UV-B rays penetrate quickly and burn colours on the surface.

Ultraviolet light causes the most damage in the shortest period of time. Our anti-solar filters absorb 99% of UV rays, greatly reducing discolouration.
